Environment Program
Special Initiatives
While the majority of the Environment Program’s work is focused on energy efficiency, renewable energy, and adaptation to climate change, we occasionally support initiatives based in the United States that fall outside these focus areas.
Our programmatic approach
Our special initiatives work is focused on broadening public support for taking action to address climate change. Examples of such work include studying the economic effects of climate change and conducting outreach to leaders from government, finance, investment, and other influential constituencies. In addition, we support some time-limited initiatives aimed at the reform or adoption of important climate-relevant policies.
Funding guidelines
We consider all Special Initiatives on an invitation-only basis.
We do not accept unsolicited preliminary application e-mails or unsolicited full applications.
If you have questions, e-mail our Grants Inquiry Coordinator or call 248-643-9630.
